Vote for our regional winner Hannah Pacey, in the Doodle4Google competition! ![]() In the summer term approximately 120 Scalby School year 7-9 Graphics and Art students took part in a competition run by Google. The theme of the competition (called ‘Doodle for Google') was My Hero/Heroine and the students were asked to produce a new Google design based on person/group of people they admire.
Each school could submit 6 entries. Therefore, an internal judging panel (Technology and Art staff) selected the most promising six. It was a very difficult task as all designs were imaginative and the students had put a lot of effort into their work. The final six were Liam Clark, Bradley Muff, Savannah Petrie, Andrew Howson, Stacy Ness and Hannah Pacey. We have recently had confirmation that Hannah Pacey has been selected as a regional winner. Over 50,000 designs were submitted this year. Hannah not only reached the 480 regional finalists, but was selected by the Google judging panel as one of 48 regional winners. Hannah's design will now be voted for by the general public who will choose the National Winners. The vote goes live on www.google.co.uk/doodle4google next week. The overall winner will be decided by the current Google artist Dennis Hwang and will visit the Google Headquarters in California with their family. Their design will then be displayed on the Google homepage for 24 hours. Miss Bedford |
