A letter will be coming home today inviting any parents interested in being considered for one of the 3 posts as a Parent Governor on the new Shadow Governing Body to apply.

The deadline for replies to be with County Hall is 19th March

Appointment of new Principal

Dear Parent

I am really pleased to inform you that the Interim Executive Board (IEB), with the full agreement of the Local Authority, has appointed Mr David Read as Principal of Scalby School from September 2010. 

Praising Stars report to go home today

The 3rd Praising Stars' report  of this academic year will be coming home with your child this evening, if he/she is not in school today then the report will be sent home to you via the post.

Important Health Information

Dear Parent or Guardian,

I am writing to inform you that a child who attends Scalby School has been admitted to hospital with suspected meningitis, probably caused by the meningococcus bacteria. No further action is necessary at this present time. There is no reason to make any change in the school routine and no reason for children to be kept at home.

Parents' Consultative Group Meetings

Dear Parents,

Important upcoming dates for the Parents Consultative Group meetings are:

Steering Group - 11th January at 18:30

Full Meeting - 25th January at 19:00

The agenda will follow after the steering group meeting. All parents are very welcome to attend the full meeting.

Just to let you know that the Praising Stars reports for this half term are going home today, if your child is absent then it will be sent home via the post.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE END OF TERM

School will finish at 12.30pm on Friday 18 December. If your child travels on school transport the buses and taxis will operate at that time. Special arrangements apply to students who travel to Ravenscar, whose parents will receive a letter in the post.
