Paris visit 2009

40 Year 8 Scalby School students visited Paris at Half Term, with teachers Sarah Pearson, John Jones, Michael McCluskie and Helen Stewart. They went to the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur and Montmartre, enjoyed a boat trip on the River Seine, went shopping on the Champs Elysees and in Les Halles, had a day in Disneyland Paris and visited the Stade de France.

Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Sarah Pearson, said "It is all very well learning languages in the classroom, but the real language learning experience comes from being abroad. Therefore the aim of our trip was to encourage students at every opportunity to use the language they have learnt in the classroom in a real life context and to enhance their knowledge of French society and culture". Student Lucy Schofield said, "It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I would love to go there again" while student Lily Anderson said "I think the trip was amazing. The teachers were great. Thank you teachers for putting time and effort into this trip."
